What is transcript.im?
transcript.im is a transcription workspace for public video links and uploaded audio or video. Paste a YouTube, TikTok, or Instagram link, or upload a media file, and the product creates a timestamped transcript that stays connected to the original recording.
Once the transcript is ready, you can clean it, translate it, turn it into structured notes, summarize the key ideas, or build a mind map. Everything starts from the transcript, so you can move from watching to working with the content in one place.
What can you do with a transcript?
Understand long content faster
Scan the transcript, jump to timestamps, and use summaries or chapter notes to find the parts that matter.
Create reusable notes
Turn lectures, meetings, interviews, and videos into structured notes instead of starting from a blank document.
Repurpose spoken ideas
Use the transcript as the source for articles, social posts, clips, subtitles, and research material.
Work across languages
Translate timestamped transcripts while keeping the text aligned with the original video or audio.
Who is transcript.im for?
1. Creators and marketers
Convert videos and podcasts into captions, briefs, posts, and reusable content without transcribing manually.
2. Students and researchers

3. Teams and operators
Capture meetings, demos, training material, and customer conversations in a format that is easier to share and review.
4. Anyone who prefers reading
Follow a recording as text, scan ahead, copy the useful parts, and return to the exact timestamp when needed.

Hey — Transcript.im maker here. I kept hitting the same wall: transcript tools hand you 10,000 words of raw text and call it done, so you end up pasting it into ChatGPT anyway. transcript.im does the second half too — paste a YouTube / TikTok / Instagram link or upload a file, then clean it, translate it into 100+ languages, turn it into notes or a mind map, all with timestamps you can click. No sign-up needed to try it. Curious what you'd use a transcript *for* — that's what we build next.

saves so much time - being able to search and work with transcripts instead of watching through entire videos is game-changing for research and content creation

this an amazing idea, would use this for sure for my uni class and meetings
Keeping the transcript tied to the original timestamps is the detail that matters. It's the difference between something you can actually edit against the source and a plain text dump you have to re-scrub by hand. Does the mind map export out, or is it view-only?
Really impressive approach — going beyond raw transcripts to notes, mind maps, and translations with clickable timestamps solves a real workflow gap. For cross-border ecommerce teams dealing with customs and tariff documentation, having searchable transcripts of supplier negotiations or trade webinars could make it much easier to reference key details later. The no-sign-up trial is a great call too. Curious if there's any plan for speaker identification or export formats that integrate with document workflows. Nice work!
really helpful for students

Impressive approach by developers. I like it
saves so much time I was able to create scripts for my videos by extracting transcripts from other videos so I can take them as reference.
