6Hey everyone! I built PainBase because I was tired of the classic indie hacker trap: spending months building something in secret, only to launch to silence. I wanted a way to know people actually needed a solution before writing a single line of code. So PainBase scans real public complaints on Reddit, Hacker News, Dev.to and other communities in real time, scores how painful and underserved each problem is, and even helps you spin up a landing page to test the idea fast. Would love your feedback on the demand-scoring approach, and happy to answer any questions about how it works under the hood!
It was so good and amazing
I really like that PainBase connects AI-generated insights to the original complaint threads instead of presenting ideas without evidence. The Gap Score also seems useful for separating frequently mentioned problems from genuinely underserved ones. Are you planning to add filters by language, country, or target audience? That could make the validation process even more precise. Great work!

Pain Base has great potential and offers some useful features, but I encountered a few issues that could be improved. Please contact me so I can share detailed feedback and suggest the changes I'd like to see. Email: [email protected]

Pain Base fills a critical gap in startup validation - founders typically spend weeks interviewing customers and manually compiling insights, then struggle to prioritize which pain points matter most. Having real-time pain point data means you can quickly confirm your problem is worth solving before burning months building the wrong solution. The market validation angle is huge too - it's one thing to think you've identified a pain point, it's another to see data showing 50+ people frustrated by the same problem. For lean teams validating ideas quickly, this accelerates the decision-making cycle from weeks to days.
Linking every finding back to the original complaint is the right foundation for credible validation. I’m curious how the Gap Score handles duplicate stories, reposts, and one unusually viral thread so volume does not masquerade as independent demand. A time-decay view and a count of distinct authors or communities would make the score easier to trust when comparing two problems.
