Self-hosted business software you buy once and own
Ownware is a catalogue of 49 self-hosted business applications you buy once and own. Invoicing, booking, point of sale, inventory, field service, HR and compliance — each one a single purchase with the full PHP and MySQL source included, running on your own server. No subscription, no per-seat fee, and your data never leaves your infrastructure. Every product has a live demo you can try without signing up and a price published on the page.
49 applications across the back office, sold individually or as suites. Full PHP + MySQL source included with every purchase. One-time price from $59, no recurring fee and no per-user charge. Runs on your own server or shared hosting. A live demo for every product, no sign-up. Cited comparison pages with every competitor price source-linked and dated.
A freelancer who wants recurring invoicing without a monthly bill. A small firm replacing a per-seat booking tool. A shop that needs point of sale and stock in one place. An agency running field jobs, quotes and costing. Anyone required to keep customer data on infrastructure they control rather than a vendor's.

11The buy-once model is genuinely appealing for back-office software where per-seat pricing gets absurd over time. As a potential buyer, two things would decide this for me: (1) how security updates are delivered — do buyers get patches for life, and is there a defined support window per app? (2) PHP + MySQL is easy to host, but a one-click Docker option would make this much more accessible to non-sysadmin buyers. Also, a comparison matrix of which apps overlap across suites would be useful — I'd want to know before paying whether invoicing is duplicated between two bundles.

Good questions, answered plainly: 1) Updates: every purchase includes all future builds of that app — your download link always serves the current build, you can re-download any time from the buyer portal, and there is no renewal fee. Fixes ship as new builds (three releases went out this weekend alone; the changelog on the site is dated). We don't publish a per-app support SLA we couldn't prove; what we do publish is contractual: if no stable release ships for 365 days, the licence's domain limit lifts, and after three such years your copy becomes MIT-licensed. It's in LICENSE.txt in every download. 2) Docker: already there — every download ships a Dockerfile beside the PHP source, so it's compose-up if that's your style, plain PHP hosting if not. 3) Overlap: fair ask. Today exactly two apps appear in two suites each (Visitora and Loyalora); invoicing lives in one suite only. Every suite page lists precisely what's inside, and if you already own an app, what you paid is credited in full against its suite within 12 months. A proper overlap matrix is a good idea — we're taking it.

Buy once, own the source, run it on your own server — this is the exact opposite of the per-seat subscription treadmill. The source-linked competitor price comparisons are a nice trust signal too; most vendors would never show their math like that.

The buy-once-and-own positioning is refreshing compared with the usual subscription model. Self-hosting plus a one-time purchase could be very attractive to small businesses that want more control over their software.
Building PZERO, saving you money - pzero.studio
Self-hosted business apps that ship with full PHP/MySQL source and one-time pricing keep the stack off recurring SaaS fees. When you want cheaper AI next to that stack, PZERO is at pzero.studio.
A live demo for every product with no sign-up is a smart default for this kind of catalogue — back-office buyers usually have to sit through a sales call just to see the UI. Two questions that would decide a purchase here: are security patches included for the lifetime of each app or within a defined support window, and how painful are version upgrades on self-hosted installs (auto-updater vs manual file replacement)? Shipping a Docker image alongside the PHP+MySQL bundle would also lower the barrier for buyers without a sysadmin.

Both answered honestly: Patches: included for as long as we ship them — the download link always serves the current build, re-download any time, no renewal fee, and the weekend's three releases are on the dated changelog. The backstop isn't a promise but a licence clause: 365 days without a stable release lifts the domain limit; three such years make your copy MIT. Upgrades: manual by design — nothing in these apps phones home, so updates are pulled by you, never pushed at you. Each download carries the full schema migrations (not a snapshot), and the manual documents the steps. And the Docker image you asked for already ships in every zip, next to the source.
Including the full PHP and MySQL source with one-time pricing makes the ownership proposition clear, especially for small firms that need customer data on infrastructure they control. Live demos without signup and source-linked competitor comparisons should make evaluation much easier.
A live demo with no signup is the right way to sell a one-time PHP app, and publishing the price on the page helps. I would still want to know whether the source drop includes schema migrations and an upgrade path, or only the current snapshot. For invoicing or HR, a one-time purchase stays cheaper than a subscription only if you can patch it when PHP or MySQL moves. The listing says the full source is included. It does not say who ships security fixes after the sale.

Direct answers: the source drop includes the schema migrations, not just the current snapshot. Post-sale fixes reach you as new builds — the download link always serves the current build, with no renewal fee — and email support covers installation and defects in the code as delivered. As for who ships fixes if we stop: that case is contractual rather than promised — no stable release for 365 days lifts the domain limit, and after three such years your copy becomes MIT-licensed. The wording is in LICENSE.txt in the download and on the terms page.
