Monocards is a Mac app that turns your numbers, code, screenshots and releases into polished, on-brand visuals. Design a look once, save it as a template, and fill in the content yourself or let your AI agent do it through the built-in MCP server. Everything renders on your Mac.

The 'agent as designer' angle is interesting, but the real test for dev-tooling use is whether the output is deterministic enough to run in CI, like generating release-note cards or changelog visuals on every deploy without a human in the loop. Is there a headless or CLI mode, or an API, so card generation can be scripted, and can brand templates be version-controlled as code? If the design tokens live in a plain config file, this could slot nicely into the same pipelines that already build our docs and API references.

Monocards is a useful tool for anyone who wants to turn technical content into polished visuals without spending a lot of time on design. Keeping everything rendered locally on the Mac is also a nice touch for privacy and control.

When the agent fills a template through the MCP server, does it see the template's limits up front: how long each text field can be, which fields are required? We make social cards for our own launches, and the usual failure is an agent writing a headline that's two words too long for the layout. Does Monocards shrink the text, cut it off, or tell the agent so it can write a shorter one?
