Lightning Assist has one goal: help you type less and do more—whether that’s replying to customers, writing docs, coding, doing marketing, or just getting words on the page. What it does: Text expansion (we call them “resources”) — One hotkey turns a short trigger into a full template, email, reply, or code block. Works in any app. Push-to-talk voice-to-text — Hold the key, speak, release. Your words appear where you’re typing. No more switching apps to dictate. AI edits — Select text, hit a hotkey, and get rewrite, shorten, expand, translate, or improve—right in place. No copy-paste to a separate AI window. Teams & companies — Share resources with your team or your whole organization so everyone uses the same templates and replies. Dynamic resources — Use placeholders so one resource can adapt (e.g. different names, dates) instead of creating dozens of similar snippets. Privacy-first We don’t store what you say or type for matching. Speech is processed for transcription; only the final text can be stored, and you can turn that off in Settings. No “as you type” scanning—we use explicit hotkeys so you stay in control and avoid accidental triggers. This is super handy in terminals, especially with the Quick Access window where I insert SSH commands. Makes everything way faster, such as connecting through SSH using pem keys or downloading/uploading stuff when using scp, for instance.

In our internal tests, accuracy has been between 95% and 98% compared to voice input, and we’re eager to hear how it performs for you in real use. You get 50+ languages with auto-detect or manual selection, and two modes: Enhanced (higher accuracy, including for complex languages) and Mini (faster and lighter for English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian). It’s push-to-talk: hold the shortcut, speak, release, and the text is pasted in 1–2 seconds. AI rewrite / multiple languages: Yes. The AI Command window supports translate to [language] and rewrite in many languages, so you can translate or improve text in the language you need. Yes. Teams and Company plans support shared snippet libraries: you assign resources to a team or make them company-wide, and Company Admin can invite and manage users so everyone has access to the same templates. Right now we don’t have audit history (who changed what/when) or fine-grained role-based access per resource—it’s company/team-level (admin vs member). We know that’s a common blocker for rolling out templated replies org-wide, and it’s on our radar to improve. We have a Resource Examples section with categories (e.g. Customer Support, Marketing, meeting-style templates)—users browse by category and add examples one by one (“Preview & Add”). We don’t yet offer a single “starter library” (support replies, email follow-ups, sales objections, meeting notes) as a one-click import but we have AI Chat that helps you create any resource.
