Free SEO + AI-search audits, Pro plans for tracking
4.8(6)9SEOMarketingTechnology
BeFirst SEO checks your site the way Google and AI search engines actually see it. One paste of your URL gives you a full SEO audit (on-page, meta, structured data, speed), an AEO/GEO read on how well ChatGPT and Perplexity can pull answers from your pages, and AI-written fixes. Running an audit is free, create a free account to save your audits and history, and Pro plans unlock tracking, deeper checks and team features. It grew out of my own freelance client work, where I needed fast honest checks without paying for a heavyweight suite.

9Hey everyone, excited to be here. BeFirst SEO started as my own project, I wanted one free tool that checks on-page SEO, speed and whether AI search engines like ChatGPT can actually read your site, instead of juggling five different checkers. You can run an audit free, make a free account to save your history, and Pro plans cover tracking and deeper checks. Curious what other checks you would want in a tool like this.
A free audit is only useful if it prioritizes. Ranking the found issues by expected impact, instead of a flat list, is the difference between a report people act on and one they archive. Does it audit AI-search visibility separately from classic SEO?
The AI-search read is the part I'd use most. One request from running audits on a marketplace: let the audit skip URLs that are noindex or canonicalised to another page. Paginated and filter pages pull the score down even when they're excluded on purpose, so a 'skip noindex' toggle would make the score more honest.

The AEO/GEO read is the part I'd actually pay attention to. Classic SEO checkers are everywhere, but very few tell you whether ChatGPT or Perplexity can lift a clean answer from the page. We build sites with AI-generated code, and the things that moved the needle for AI search were boring: real headings in order, an FAQ block with structured data, and a short llms.txt. Does the audit check for llms.txt and FAQPage/Organization schema specifically? A per-page score for "answerability" would be a great Pro feature.
One check I'd love to see in the audit: a URL that is blocked in robots.txt and also carries a noindex tag. Google never fetches the page, so it never sees the noindex, and the URL can still end up indexed from links. We hit exactly that on our own site and it's invisible in most checkers. For the AEO side, flagging whether the main content is in the server-rendered HTML or only appears after JavaScript would be useful too, since several AI crawlers don't run JS.
The AI-search audit angle is what makes this stand out from the sea of free SEO checkers — most tools still only show you how Google sees the page. If the audit also explains why an issue hurts AI citations specifically (missing structured data, thin entity references), that's genuinely useful. Curious whether the Pro tracking plans include monitoring how often a site gets cited by ChatGPT/Gemini over time.
The AEO/GEO angle is the real differentiator here - most free SEO audits completely ignore whether ChatGPT or Perplexity can actually pull answers from your pages. How do you measure AI-search visibility: simulated retrieval, or real queries against the models? And for the AI-written fixes on structured data, is there a human-review step before applying JSON-LD changes? Auto-generated schema can invent facts if not grounded. Free audit with no signup wall is a solid acquisition play either way.
The AI-search audit angle is what makes this stand out from the sea of free SEO checkers — most tools only grade classic on-page factors and ignore whether ChatGPT or AI Overviews would actually cite you. One suggestion: after the audit, a prioritized "fix this first" list ranked by expected impact would help non-technical founders decide where to spend their time. Congrats on the launch!
