A browser extension that wraps sound around your head.
What is 8Dfy?
8Dfy is a browser extension that wraps sound around your head. It takes any song, playlist, or video playing in YouTube, YouTube Music, or Apple Music and applies 8D rotation, multi-band surround, HRTF 3D positioning, or binaural beats so it feels like the audio is moving in space around you. It runs entirely in your browser — no audio data ever leaves your device.

The beat-matched Auto DJ feature sounds really cool. How does it perform with different music genres?
The client-side Web Audio approach is the part that stands out. Keeping HRTF and 8D processing on-device means you can spatialize YouTube or Apple Music without shipping the stream anywhere, which is a rare privacy choice for this category. Curious how Auto DJ holds up on tracks without a clean kick—does beat detection fall back to a fixed crossfade when the transient is weak?

Interesting approach to spatial audio—especially the browser-based processing and support for YouTube/Apple Music. The 8D and HRTF modes sound useful for focused listening; curious how you handle browser performance on long playlists.
Constraint Portfolio Kit — budget allocation under hard caps
The cross-platform coverage is compelling—especially Spotify plus YouTube Music—and the binaural/3D positioning sounds like a thoughtful way to make ordinary listening feel spatial. Curious how you handle tracks that already have spatial-audio mixes?
The 3D positioning and device-local processing sound like a thoughtful way to make spatial audio accessible without sending listening data to a server. Curious whether you plan presets for different headphones or listening environments?
Thank you so much, Adding some cool features soon.
Yes we are woking on adding features to handle multiple headphones and env.
Building dcs4, a 4-letter .com availability index
The spatial-audio positioning sounds compelling—especially the ability to work across YouTube and Apple Music without sending audio off-device. Have you noticed the biggest difference with headphones that support spatial audio, or does the effect work well on standard stereo headphones too?
Thank you so much, Adding some cool features soon.
I have tested on XM4 and FiiO FT1, JBL BT ,Oneplus and more and the effect works well with all, but yes you will notice better based on the device support

The privacy-first approach really sets this apart. Keeping all audio processing client-side via the Web Audio API removes a huge trust issue with most browser audio tools. The Auto DJ beat-matching is clever too - it turns playlist management into something that feels intentional rather than jarring.
Thank you so much, Adding some cool features soon.

Love the privacy-first approach with everything running client-side. Curious: when beat detection struggles with jazz or live recordings, does Auto DJ fall back to a simple crossfade or force a hard cut?
Thank you so much, Adding some cool features soon.
The browser-based approach is what caught my attention here. Being able to add 8D and HRTF effects directly to YouTube or Apple Music without sending the audio off-device makes this much more interesting than a typical audio effect tool. The Auto DJ feature is a nice bonus too.

The Auto DJ beat-matching and 8D rotation features are an interesting combination, especially the way the transitions are designed to preserve the flow between tracks. I’m curious how well the beat detection handles songs with less consistent rhythms or live recordings. The client-side processing is also a nice touch for privacy.

Really like that this runs entirely client-side via the Web Audio API, no audio ever leaves the device, which is a nice privacy angle most "enhance my music" extensions skip. Following up on Blogger sara's question about beat detection on less consistent rhythms: does the Auto DJ transition logic fall back to a simpler crossfade when it can't confidently lock onto a beat, or does it still force a hard cut? That edge case is what would make or break it for jazz or live recordings.

Can you explain 8D a bit clearer? When I think of it I think of 3d but with sensory, noise, and feeling? Because I don't understand this my guess is that most people also do not.

I didn't even know that my headphones can do that!
This is actually pretty cool. The fact that everything runs directly in the browser makes it really easy to try without having to set anything up. I’m curious to see how the 8D effect feels across different types of music.
